In the evening, on March 22, a shooting took place in the concert hall Crocus City Hall in Krasnogorsk, Moscow Region. A fire broke out. 137 people died, including three children, and 180 others were injured.
The Russian side claimed that a window had allegedly been prepared for the suspects in the attack to cross the border into Ukraine.
The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine stated that this version “does not stand up to any criticism”. However, they believe that this attack is a deliberate provocation by the Putin regime to change the situation in the international arena – to turn the image of the aggressor into that of a victim.
Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, said that Ukraine had nothing to do with the attack.
The White House noted that it sees no evidence of Ukraine’s involvement in the attack. At the same time, the United States is convinced that ISIS was involved in the attack and warned Russia of the threat in advance.
“The Islamic State claimed responsibility and called the attack at Crocus City Hall its “most brutal attack in recent years.”
