Ukrenergo CEO Volodymyr Kudrytskyi said that Russia’s recent attacks on energy facilities in Ukraine have caused at least €100 million in losses.
These attacks are mainly aimed at the company’s high-voltage equipment. He also noted that thanks to engineering fortifications at energy facilities, the company managed to avoid greater consequences.
Yasno CEO Sergey Kovalenko said that on March 22, DTEK Group lost about 50% of its generating capacity as a result of the missile attack, including many thermal and hydroelectric power plants, as well as many network nodes and transformers. This attack destroyed the system’s ability to transmit electricity and limited its generation capacity.
In Kharkiv, thermal power plants and all transformer substations were destroyed. Kovalenko also noted that there may be a shortage of electricity in the summer.
Ukrhydroenergo CEO Ihor Syrota said that it would take several years to fully restore the Dnipro hydroelectric power plant.
Poland will ensure LNG supplies from the US to Ukraine
